COVID-19 Update March 18, 2020
March 18, 2020
· Upcoming Visits, Visitors, and Labs
Thank you to all of our patients and families for bearing with us as we go through this situation together. With your help, we can keep NECS patients and staff healthy.
UPCOMING VISITS
Please note: if your visit needs to be changed, someone from your team will call you to discuss it with you. During this time, a call from NECS may show up on your phone as "unknown number" or "blocked number." Make sure you check your voicemails!
We are now scheduling all follow-up appointments and survivorship visit appointments using telemedicine. If you are not able to do a telemedicine visit, we can reschedule you for an office visit in the future.
Your health and safety is the most important thing to us right now. We are taking all the steps we can to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus/COVID-19. That means keeping any patients who are coming for follow-up visits out of our offices. This limits your exposure to others, and limits exposure for our staff, too.
LAB CHANGES
WALK-IN LABS
Starting Thursday, March 19th, we will no longer offer walk-in lab testing. This means if you would like us to do a lab test for you, you must have an appointment. We are making this change so we can limit your exposure to others, and limit exposure for our staff as well.
LAB-ONLY APPOINTMENTS
Starting Thursday, March 19th, if you have an appointment for lab testing, but are not having treatment on the same day, you will enter our office at 100 Campus Drive in Scarborough through a different door.
For example, you have a lab appointment on Tuesday, and a treatment visit on Wednesday. On Tuesday, when you come in for your lab appointment, you will enter through a door partway down the hallway on the way to our waiting room. Here is the door you are looking for:
Ring the bell, and someone from the lab will come to the door to greet you. Again, we are making this change so we can limit your exposure to others, and limit exposure for our staff as well.
VISITOR RESTRICTIONS
Effective Thursday, March 19th, no visitors will be permitted in our offices. If you need a driver, please make sure you can contact that person when your treatment is over so they can pick you up outside the building.
