Chelsea is a licensed and registered dietitian who brings over 11 years of clinical nutrition experience in educating and motivating patients to achieve their nutrition and lifestyle goals.
As an oncology dietitian at NECS, Chelsea guides patients on how to optimize their nutrition status in preparation of, during and after cancer treatment. Chelsea has a passion for nutrition education and loves to work with patients to understand how their body utilizes the various foods that we eat. Chelsea practices nutrition counseling with a patient centered approach allowing personal, cultural, and religious food preferences to remain intact while making food and nutrition related lifestyle changes to meet medical nutrition therapy goals.
Chelsea completed her undergraduate studies in Dietetics at the University of Wisconsin – Stout (2010). She pursued a Master of Science in Food Science and Human Nutrition (2012) at the University of Maine, while completing her dietetic internship. Chelsea’s master’s thesis focused on assessment of food safety knowledge and was published in the Journal of Food Science Education in 2016. Chelsea has presented clinical practice experience and expertise at the annual Bariatric Dietitians of New England Conference on facilitating effective patient support groups (2018) and nutrition-focused physical exams to identify micronutrient deficiencies (2021).
Outside of the work you will find Chelsea spending quality time with her cats, enjoying a delicious cup of coffee or traveling with her husband.
