Partnering with You to Continually Improve!
As part of our ongoing commitment to continually improve our patient- and family-centered care, New England Cancer Specialists introduces a new forum for communication: the Patient & Family Advisory Council (PFAC).
The Council is the voice of patients and families receiving care at NECS. A volunteer-based partnership of patients, families, staff, and providers will meet monthly to help us improve our programs, policies, planning, and processes by:
- Advocating for expanded patient and family support services;
- Partnering with NECS administration for increased staffing and improved scheduling, when needed;
- Implementing better communication; and
- Advising on improving our infrastructure and physical spaces.
Five or six key administrative staff members will serve as voting members of the Council. Other staff leaders will be invited guests and routinely attend meetings. The most important group will consist of up to a dozen patients, family members or friends, ideally with recent experience at NECS, i.e., in the past 36 months.
We are committed to having a diverse membership, representing a wide variety of cancer and life experiences, and to make the Council a collaborative and respectful forum.
Get involved
Do you want to share your experience, guide the development of projects, and shape key decisions that affect patient care and the experience of their families at NECS?
If so, we’d like to hear your voice!
You do not need to be a Council member to provide your input, but if you would be willing to serve, please apply below. We will provide a detailed Orientation Manual and thorough training for all volunteers.
